Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor.

Hardass, brooding, and all business.

Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor.

He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.

Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.

After all, some rules are made to be broken.

They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning.

*A contemporary romance with a little Southern drama. This is book 2 in the Bishop Brothers series. Each book features a different brother and can be read as a complete standalone. HEA guaranteed!*

*Not suitable for readers under 18 due to adult language and sexual content.*

So this morning my stupid neighbors decided to wake me up at like 7am by ringing my doorbell to get into the building after they had kept me up most of the night banging around upstairs. However on the plus side that gave me a few hours to start this story and ultimately finish it because I could not put it down! Seriously I devoured it only a few short hours and LOVED every freaking minute of it!

After reading Taming Him back in January I’ve been anticipating Evan’s story for two reasons. Number ONE he is a cowboy (OMG so freaking hot…save a horse, ride a cowboy) and number TWO a doctor! What a perfect combination if I do say so myself. He is hands down one of my favorite new book boyfriends…I mean just look at that COVER!

Needing Him is the second book in Kennedy Fox’s highly anticipated Bishop Brothers series. Evan and Emily’s hot and heavy chemistry immediately drew me in and their one of a kind personalities dominated my heart! Their story is a real page turner and will surely keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end!

Although these books can be enjoyed as standalones I strongly encourage you to read them in order so you don’t miss out on some backstory! GOSH now I cannot wait for the next book in the series because I am officially in BISHOP BROTHERS la la land!

They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what beautiful chaos it will be.

These HotHoles have FOREVER destroyed me for all other men (book and real life boyfriends)…I know we might have been warned, but I didn’t think that it was possible because I’ve been falling in love with book boyfriends for years now. Seriously why did LJ Shen make these HotHoles so dang irresistible. I cannot even begin to decide which one I like more because they are all equally addictive!

Trent…oh my dear sweet Trent. You my dear have captivated my heart in a new way just like Vicious, Ruckus and Jamie have done before you. Each of you HotHoles hold your own special place deep in my heart and I shall keep you all there until the end of time. I am sorry to say this ladies, but these HotHoles are ALL MINE! Your claim on them are now null and void because there is no way I am not claiming them all for myself…you can all still look but you mustn’t touch 😉.

Trent Rexroth…I mean come on even saying his name instantly melts my heart. This man is sinfully silent and I think in many ways that appeals to me in so many ways. He is one of those characters that bulldozes his way deep inside your heart and holds onto every single emotion you have and will ever have both during and long after finishing his story! His love for his daughter Luna is breathtakingly beautiful and radiates right off the pages. You can tell that he cares deeply!

Edie Van Der Zee…she might only be eighteen years old, but she already has the weight of the world on her young shoulders. Her heart is rough and jagged and it will take a strong man to fight through to repair it. She is an independent soul who is trapped under her father’s thumb. I found myself internalizing her pain and was wholeheartedly invested in her struggles, wanting to fix them all even though I knew I couldn’t!

Now let me just tell you that Trent and Edie’s connection is explosive and they have the kind of love that knows no bounds. Trust me when I say that their love is one that burns deeply and leaves you on edge. Their romance is Scandalous and that is why readers will fall in love every step of the way! LJ Shen you have certain outdone yourself this time and I cannot wait for the next book in the series! Bring on BANE!

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived.
Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

I thought Vicious had destroyed me for all future book boyfriends, but Ruckus captivated my heart in a whole new light. My goodness I am so in LOVE with these HotHoles and I think they have RUINED me for all other men. LJ Shen what are you doing to my poor heart? I don’t think I can possible handle the next book in the Sinners of Saint, but I shall surely push on because I love this series so freaking much!

I must admit that when I was reading Vicious and Emilia’s story I kind of despised Dean Cole…aka Ruckus…because those two were truly meant to be together and probably would have sooner if it weren’t for him. However, once I got his side of the story and discovered how compassionate he was I quickly changed my tune and found myself loving this man. As much as he wanted to deny it, there is no denying how caring and protective he is to those he loves. The flashbacks to his high school years really opened my eyes to him and they were some of my favorite scenes in the book. He loved Rosie since he first laid eyes on her, but of course a certain relationship happened and it took them 11 long years to FINALLY end up together…so many wasted years I must say.

Now Rosie. What can I say other than this girl was my ultimate leading lady. She was one of the sweetest characters I ever read and she is the only one capable of securing Dean’s heart. If you have read Vicious then you might recall hearing about Rosie’s declining health, but nothing could have prepared me for the extreme side effects she had to face. She is hands down one of the strongest female characters I have read in a long time and my heart bled each time she fell ill. I had no clue if her illness would steal her last breath during this story which left me in pain until I reached that bittersweet ending…

Ruckus and Baby LeBlanc were such a perfect match and I was totally rooting these two on right from the very beginning. This story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation with every twist and turn. I could hardly contain my excitement throughout and found myself head over heels in love with this story! I totally considered bugging LJ Shen many times with all my thoughts because I had so many freaking things running through my mind. You have truly outdone yourself with this incredible story!

Finding my teammate in bed with my wife made the decision I had been fighting with for years easier.

It’s time to move on.

A fresh start and a new NHL team in a big city. Most importantly, it’s my son Jack’s best shot.

It would be both of our best shots.

After a bad childhood, I made sure I would succeed, so I lived for my job.

The problem is I die a little with each patient I lose. It’s part of my career at Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital, but it doesn’t make the sting of loss any easier.

Seeking anything other than a life saved isn’t on my agenda until a NHL player walks into my hospital with his son.

We’re officially off script the moment we meet.

If this love is anything, it’s unscripted.

Natasha Madison never seizes to amazing me with her incredibly addictive and beautifully captivating writing style. Every time I open up one of her books I know that there is no way I am putting it down until I have devoured the entire thing from beginning to end. I began this story at 8am when I woke up and couldn’t fall back to sleep for a couple of hours. Unfortunately after cruising through the first 54% I had to set it down to go and do adult things (like attend class and work). The moment I got home my kindle was powered up and I inhaled the last 46% in a little over an hour.

Something So Unscripted is the kind of story that will engulf you whole body and soul. The intense emotion, love and heartache is almost to much to bare, but in the best way possible. My heart bled for Zack he endure something no parent should have to go through. It’s hard almost losing a child and having to go through a divorce all at the same time. His son Jack is so strong at only the age of 5 and I wept for his struggle.

Now we cannot forget Denise, an extraordinary doctor who will do anything to heal each and everyone of her patients. She has a heart of gold and I loved how her words can put people at ease in seconds. She is one of the kindest people you will every meet! I loved everything about these two and the insta-love connection was dynamite. Oh and let’s not forget how amazing Denise is for both Zack and Jack. A match made in heaven for sure!

This is one of my favorite Natasha Madison reads and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!

When Jake walked into the tattoo shop Life in Ink, he had no idea his life was about to change. This time for the better. After his girlfriend left him and decided to raise their daughter with another man, Jake walked away to put the pieces of his life back together.

Charleigh knows she has what it takes to be the best artist in her uncle’s tattoo shop. If he’d only give her a chance. When Jake walked into the shop, she’s not sure why he gets under her skin. But he does, and she doesn’t like it.

Jake has to overcome his fear of living in his parents’ shadow and finally stand up to them, with Charleigh by his side. But Jake isn’t sure he’ll be able to push aside his jealousy and raise his daughter. Will his pride get in the way? Or will he finally become the man he wants to be?

“W-we would like to get a tattoo,” one of them stutters. I hate when we get the inebriated ones. It makes everything so much harder.

“Do you know what you want?” I ask, seeing which artists are open. Adrian just finished up a sleeve, but I don’t want to pawn the drunkards onto him. I glance over to Bianca’s area, smirking. She’s sitting in the chair she uses for her clients, filing her bright red nails. She’s had it out for me since I started my apprenticeship. I don’t know what I did to piss her off, but she’s about to get this group for constantly giving me shit.

“Um, hello?” The guy with blond hair cuts into my thoughts. I must have been focusing on Bianca a little too hard. I didn’t even hear what ridiculous tattoos they want to get. I already know whatever they’re getting isn’t going to be genuine.

“Sorry, I’ll need your I.D., and you’ll need to fill out these forms. Are you all getting tattoos?” I ask as I pull out the forms from under the counter. I place four forms on top of the surface and dig around in the basket that sits next to the tray holding the forms for a pen.

The sober one starts speaking, “I don’t think-,” but his friends quickly cut him off.

“Yes, we’re all getting a tattoo,” the surly guy with dark hair says before patting his friend on the back.”

“Let me guess,” I say. “You’re all going to get cutesy matching tattoos like the girls that come in here do.” I roll my eyes, and I know they don’t miss the sarcasm because they’re staring at me with wide grins.”

The blond-haired guy raises his head, “Actually, no. Just because we came together doesn’t mean we’re getting the same thing.”

I glance down at the form he’s been filling out. His name is Jake, and not two minutes ago he looked and sounded like he was drunk out of his mind. Now he sounds as sober as the guy that lead them into the shop.

I’m about to make another sarcastic comment when Uncle Corey appears out of nowhere. “You called?”

I groan, “Yep. What took you so long? I know you didn’t have any clients back there.”

“I was finishing my dinner, not that it matters. This is my shop.” I don’t miss the wink he throws to Jake and his friends, like he’s letting them in on a little secret.”

I roll my eyes. I can’t help it. It’s my automatic reaction when Corey is being cheesy, or downright ridiculous.

Corey clears his throat. “What can I help you gentlemen with this evening?”

Even though I’m pretty sure Jake is drunk, he answers for all of them. “All of us want to get a tattoo.” He nods at each of his friends. “Nothing big. A few of us have to be able to hide it during football season.”

This is the perfect time for me to insert myself into the conversation. “I was just about to set them all up with Bianca.”

Corey looks at me, puzzled. “Why? There’s four of them, and four of us.”

Now it’s my turn to be confused. My eyebrows are furrowed, and my nose is scrunched up. I’m pretty sure my brows are almost touching. “Noooo,” I drawl out. “There are only three of you, unless you have another artist hiding in your pocket.”

My uncle glances at me, then the group of guys huddled in front of the counter,” before pulling me off to the side. He lowers his voice, “There are four of us. I’m letting you tattoo tonight.”

“Now,” I shriek, and try my best to bring my voice down a few decibels. “You want me to start tattooing tonight. With this bunch of drunk idiots.”

“It’s the perfect time for you to practice,” he counters, looking at Jake and his friends once again. “I know that blond guy puts on a pretty good sober face, but I know pretty much everyone in that group has been drinking. They won’t care if you happen to screw up. Just make sure you don’t.”

The word “duh” is on the tip of my tongue, but Corey continues. “Always take pride in your work. Even if the people getting it won’t give it the appreciation it deserves.”

That’s as close to praise as I’m going to get from my uncle. Finally, after two years of cleaning the shop, setting up appointments, and showing them I know how to operate everything, I’m getting my chance.

It’s not the way I envisioned starting my career, but I’ll take it. I groan when Corey ushers Jake into the empty chair sitting in the area he has held for me these past two years.

I grab my sketch pad. “So, what kind of tattoo do you want?”

Jake shrugs his shoulders. “I don’t know.” Lifting a finger to tap his chin, he sits in silence drawing it out to grate on my nerves. “Surprise me.” The smugness in his voice and posture make me want to slap him.

Ugh. “Okay,” I reply.

I put pencil to paper and start drawing the most ridiculous tattoo a guy his age could get. I’ll take pride in what I do, but this guy in particular gets under my skin. We’ll see how he likes his surprise tattoo.

The perfect man for me is a blood-sucking lawyer. #pfftwhatever

Been there.
Done that.
Burned the T-shirt.

I didn’t swear off all men after my divorce, but I sure as hell swore off anyone remotely like my ex. On the top of that list? Attorneys. Everyone knows they can’t be trusted.

Now that I’m back in Chicago, my focus is my daughter, my mom and me. I haven’t given up on finding my happily-ever-after, it’s just on hold—indefinitely.

Then I see Reed Warner again, and he weasels his way into every part of my life, not willing to take no for an answer.

In spite of my better judgment I can’t stop thinking about the way his designer suits fit his muscular frame, or the way his blue eyes seem to eat me up with every glance.

You know when you’re on a diet and even hummus seems irresistible? Reed is like the equivalent of chocolate éclair and my willpower is fading fast.

The problem? Not only is he a lawyer…

He was the best man at my wedding.

The Hardest Fall by Ella Maise

The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you’re anyone but me. The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, I’m very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy I’m attracted to.

At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since I’d never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong. He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over campus.
I might have also propositioned him, run away from him, attacked him with a cooking utensil…and…uh, maybe I shouldn’t tell you all of it. It’s pretty normal stuff, things you’d expect…from me. Eventually, the time came when I couldn’t hide anymore—not that he’d have let me even if I tried.

Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking away. It doesn’t help that I’m not the most subtle person in the world either.

He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because of my quirks. I can’t even tell him that I think my heart beats differently whenever he’s around.

He thinks we’re going to be best friends. I think I have a big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I don’t care that I’m not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him.

The thing is, that’s exactly what I’m doing—what we’re doing, I think.

About Ella Maise

I’m a big dreamer. And that’s how it all started for me, really. Reading and dreaming. I love nothing more than to escape real life to find those very few magical moments in a book. I love how it has the power of stealing your worries away, putting a smile on your face even when smiling is the last thing on your mind. Crushing on fictional characters is also another bonus. Through my words, if I can manage to make even one-person smile, it means I’ve done my job well.

Writing became my world and I can’t imagine myself doing anything other than creating new characters and telling their stories. You know how some things simply makes your heart burst with happiness? A really good book, a puppy, hugging someone you’ve been missing like crazy? That’s what writing does to me. And all the hard work, all the sleepless nights, all the anxiety that comes with publishing…everything is worth it at the end.
