“Are you looking for the cheerleading tryouts, sweetheart?”

Zeke Kingston is the arrogant, tattooed, and sinful coach of Boston University’s women’s football team. And I’m their new quarterback.

From the moment the dark and broody hunk mistook me for a cheerleader we’ve clashed. His smirking lips make my blood boil and his god-like muscles turn my knees weak.

Everything about us is off limits, but lines are blurring and temptations have become too hard to resist.

Being together breaks all the rules, but what happens when the rules no longer matter?

So this certainly isn’t my first Jacob Chance book, but it might just be my favorite! The Boston Terriers standalone series has quick become one of my favorites and I love getting to know both the guys and gals on the football teams. Ever since meeting Zeke in PENALTY and getting to see more of him in DRIVE, I have been wanting to get my hands on his story. So…when the author announced that COACH was about him I got so freaking excited and I am so glad that it is finally here!

Sports and Forbidden romances are two of my favorite kind of stories to read, so the fact that this one is a combination of BOTH just made my day! While they are of legal age, the fact that he’s her coach just makes it a bit forbidden, which I absolutely loved. Amelia and Zeke were the perfect match and I was definitely rooting for these two right from the first kickoff! I thought that the author did an incredible job with character development and the chemistry between them was HOT…with a capital H-O-T!

COACH is a fun, flirty, and fast paced story that fans of Jacob Chance will love! The third installment in the Boston Terriers standalone series was a TOUCHDOWN kind of read that I strongly recommend readers one-click today! I already cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next!

When my business partner asked me to do him a favor, I had no idea he was sending me on a blind date his mother arranged for him. I walked in the bar, saw the woman drinking her third martini, and knew I was in for an eventful night.

After the unexpected second date, she didn’t know my real name or who I really was. By that time, the lie was too far gone, and I wanted her too much to admit the truth.

It’s not every day you find out your ex-boyfriend is engaged.

I shouldn’t have agreed to the blind date. My mother insisted, and I wasn’t in any position to turn down a night out.

I will admit, I definitely shouldn’t have ordered that fourth martini before said blind date even arrived.

The man turned out to be swoon worthy, handsome, condescending—a perfect distraction.

Then I found out he was a liar.

I’ve never been in over my head to this degree.

Then again, I’ve never been in love.

Mixed Up Love is a sweet, fun, and swoon-worthy insta-love romance that fans of Natasha Madison will adore. Review – It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 7, 2018

Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at eighteen hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation—confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete had been left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest.

Yay the amazing Kylie Scott has done it again. I don’t think that I have ever been disappointed while reading one of her books and this story was no exception because there was just so much to love.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time is a fun, steamy, and slow burning forbidden romance that will have readers laughing out loud time and time again from Adele and Pete’s hilarious banter. I mean who doesn’t love a good age gap with one of your father’s closest friends, no one that’s who! This story had my heart beating in overdrive with their off the charts angsty romance that pulled on all of my heartstrings. Oh my goodness I just freaking loved these two so much and I couldn’t get enough of them! They will captivate your heart and hold tight from beginning to end.

This was an amazing read and I couldn’t put it down until I finished. Every time I pick up a new Kylie Scott read I find myself falling for her words and always end up devouring one of her books in one sitting. It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time is a great example of that fact and I strongly recommend checking it out as soon as possible!

Pretty Venom by Ella Fields

Genres: New Adult, Romance
Release Date: August 2, 2018

Callum Welsh perfected the art of hating me when we were two kids who believed we’d be forced into marriage.
He thought I wanted it, but my only wish had been for him to leave me alone.
Then one afternoon, he stole my first kiss.
Despite all he’d done, everything changed after that.

As the years passed, our hearts thawed, and he no longer hated me.
In fact, he loved me enough to make me his wife.
Until I ruined everything with one stupid mistake.

That hatred returned in the form of cruel words and even crueler deeds.
But we weren’t kids anymore.
I could handle his brand of venom.
He would be mine again, even if it cost me the remains of my heart.

Warning: contains cheating and an anti-hero who might make you throw your kindle.

Oh dear lord. Ella Fields has completely destroyed my every thought and emotion with the conclusion of her highly anticipated ending to the Gray Springs University series. In many ways I am very fortunate to have only recently decided to read these books because it allowed me to binge read this entire series all at once, but at the same time I can’t stop thinking about the fact that I could have been falling in love with these characters months ago. In a blink of an eye this author has quickly become one of my favorites and I cannot wait to check out both her backlist and her upcoming releases. Trust me if you haven’t experienced Ella Fields beautifully captivating words you need to redeem that fact right this second. You certainly will not regret a single moment of that decision!

Pretty Venom is the perfect enemies-to-lovers romance that has readers falling head over heels in love with these two unconventional anti-heroes that book lovers hate to love and love to hate. My goodness Callum and Renee truly sparked my interest back when I first met them in Suddenly Forbidden and then hit me full force again by that shock-worthy ending in Bittersweet Always. At that very moment I knew there was no possible way that my heart was going to be able to survive their story. I guess you can say that it actually happened because I was left speechless. My emotions went into complete overdrive time and time again throughout and there is no possible way that my heart will EVER fully recover the heartache I experienced and the tears I shed. This story hands down captivated me whole body, heart, and soul right from the beginning and held on for dear life through every twist until the very end!

Callum and Renee have the kind of story that readers need to go into with an open mind and heart because it will test everything you have ever thought about new adult romances. There is no way that you will be able to deny your love for these two at all! Although Pretty Venomcan technically be read and enjoyed as a standalone, I strongly encourage everyone to read the entire Gray Springs University series collection. You won’t regret a moment of this journey that theses books will take you on!

Review – Chance Encounters (Encounters #2) by Scarlett Hopper

Chance Encounters by Scarlett Hopper
Series: Encounters #2
Genres: New Adult, College Romance
Buy Now: Amazon

What are the chances your first love will be your last?

Winona Clark hasn’t been the same for years. After numerous attempts to start fresh abroad, one phone call brings her back home to some harsh truths and distant, but never forgotten, faces. Yet, there is one face she never expected to see again—the face of the boy who stole her heart all those years ago. Finally ready to deal with her past, Winona attempts to confront her trauma and embrace the love she feels she deserves. With love comes secrets though, and when you open the door to the past, you never know what will come out, including everything you wish had stayed inside.

Nick Wilder can’t outrun his demons. Tormented by what he has lost and the things he has done, Nick does whatever it takes to extinguish the images of the girl who stole his soul all those years ago. On the outside, he’s a broody bartender, but on the inside, he is holding on by a thread. When the one person he never expected to see again appears in his living room, Nick’s world is thrown. Determined not to be affected by the woman who knows him best, Nick does all he can to avoid the ghost of his past. But could the one woman he so desperately wants to avoid, be the one to save him?

Chance Encounters is the second book in Scarlett Hopper’s Encounters series and I must say that I actually liked this one a little more than the first one. The author’s writing style and character development has significantly grown from her debut novel and I found myself more invested with her main characters, Winona and Nick, right from the beginning.

The moment I finished Brief Encounters, I was fortunate enough to be able to dive right into the next book in the series since I didn’t discover this author until the next book was being released! I love Winona and Nick’s story, even though I found myself at times wanting to reach through my kindle to smack them in the face so they’d realize how perfect they were together. So many factors separated them for so long and when they finally discover some unexpected secrets you would have assumed it would bring them closer, not tear them further apart. When they finally had some common sense I cheered, but it only lasted a few moments because a few chapters later they were back at it again. These two had my head spinning around and around in circles until I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to keep up with them. This story definitely kept me on my toes and I enjoyed every moment of it!

I have to say that I am curious about Ash’s story and I cannot wait to get my hands on it sometime this year! Readers I suggest checking out the Encounters series today if you love a good New Adult and College Romance!

Review – Brief Encounters (Encounters #1) by Scarlett Hopper

Brief Encounters by Scarlett Hopper
Series: Encounters #1
Genres: New Adult, College Romance
Buy Now: Amazon

Eleanor Ivy follows two rules in life: know how to lie and never let anyone in. With the painful life she left behind and the unorthodox job she currently has, lying is a must. But when Eleanor meets Jess Parker, Breslin University’s hockey player both on and off the ice, everything she has worked for threatens to come crumbling down.

Jess Parker is the epitome of everything Eleanor wants to avoid. He’s popular, cocky, and has more girls’ numbers than a phonebook. Yet, when they are paired together for a school project, their connection is undeniable. As their friendship develops, Jess’s ability to truly see Eleanor shakes the very foundation she’s built her new life on. When Eleanor begins to question the two rules she has always followed, she finds herself wondering if honesty might actually be the best policy. But, when all is said and done, will the truth be too much for Jess to handle?

Brief Encounters is Scarlett Hopper’s debut novel and the first book in her Encounters series. Since this was the author’s first book I had no specific expectations going in, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the character development in both the main characters, Eleanor and Jess, as well as the secondary characters. I have always been a fan of a good new adult college romance and this one defiantly surprised me.

This story captured my attention right from the beginning and with so many unexpected twists and turns thrown in it kept me engaged until the very end! I have to admit that it took me a moment to connect with Eleanor even though the book was actually told in her POV. However, when she and Jess got close I found out just how much I actually liked her. She is certainly one of those characters that will grow on you and by the time you’ve finished the book you will be craving more of her.

The book was pretty well written and for the most part I was intrigued by the storyline. I am really excited to see what the rest of this series has to hold and I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next! Readers if you love yourself a college romance with some surprising twists thrown in then I would check out Brief Encounters by Scarlett Hopper today!

Review – The Chase (Briar U #1) by Elle Kennedy

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.

And that his best friend has a crush on me.

And that I just moved in with them.

Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?

He knows where to find me.

When I discovered that Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series was getting a spin off, Briar U I found myself leaping in excitement because I was sad when the original series came to an end! Those original four stories captivated my heart and I was ecstatic to see more from this group of friends, along with some new characters!

The Chase was one of my most anticipated reads of 2018 and let me say that Elle Kennedy certainly did not disappoint with the first book in this sure to be epic brand new series that fans of the Briar University universe have been craving. The author has once again given us a story filled with laughs, swoon-worthy moments and of course a ton of sexy times that had even our kindles melting from the heat that radiated off the pages. There was just so much to love about this story and I cannot freaking wait for the next installment.

I think that Summer and Fitz were the perfect couple to introduce this new series to both fans and newcomers because while we got to know both of them in the Off-Campusseries, their story together didn’t really begin to develop until the start of The Chase. Although this book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone I strongly recommend starting from the very beginning with The Deal because you are just going to fall in love with Elle Kennedy’s characters and writing style! Trust me after you have read this story you are going to want to do so anyway!

About Elle Kennedy

A New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Elle Kennedy grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, and holds a B.A. in English from York University. From an early age, she knew she wanted to be a writer, and actively began pursuing that dream when she was a teenager.

Elle currently writes for various publishers. She loves strong heroines and sexy alpha heroes, and just enough heat and danger to keep things interesting!
