Rule #1: Do not vote for Mr. Popular.
Rule #2: Do not talk to Mr. Popular.
Rule #3: (Most importantly, and above all) Do not fall for Mr. Popular…

Liam ‘Mr. Popular’ Carter will always be the closest thing to the “walking plague” in my eyes. His cockiness seeps through his every move, and no matter how many state championships he wins with the basketball team, he will forever be a “loss” to me.

Because he’s my older brother’s best friend, I’m forced to tolerate him, and he’s forced to tolerate me. In fact, unless my brother is around, we happily ignore each other every chance we get.

It wasn’t always this way, though…

Several summers ago, we both attended the same summer camp. A place we returned to year after year. We became friends–close friends, but right when I thought he could possibly turn into my everything, he made it clear that what we had was nothing.

Now that’s he’s a senior, and I only have to deal with him for one more year, I’ve vowed to keep repeating the same set of rules to myself. Especially since he seems so hell-bent on wanting to talk to me for some reason, and especially since he seems to be staring at me every time we’re in the same room together…

Rule #4: Always follow rules #1-3…
Rule #5: (OMG what the hell are you doing?) Do not KISS Mr. Popular…

Release Blitz & Book Review: The Boxer (Modern Love #2) by Piper Rayne

The Boxer by Piper Rayne
Series: Modern Love #2
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Who knew a bad boy could mend a broken heart?

What does a girl do after she discovers her fiancé is a cheating bastard?

In my case, I performed the ritual implosion of all scorned women. I drowned my sorrows in cases of white wine, wallowed in gallons of ice cream, and ignited a bonfire to burn away every damn remnant of his existence. Six months later, the only result was a permanent impression of my ass on the couch.

Adventure Dating my friends dared.
A new and exciting opportunity they said.

I thought they were crazy, but I’m not one to back down from a challenge, so I signed up for the entire four-week deal.

That’s where I saw HIM. Lucas Cummings. He isn’t the classic rich boy I usually end up with. The one whose idea of working up a sweat is waiting for his margarita to be served beachside. Nope. He’s a rough and tough bad boy that all fathers warn their daughters about. You know the type. Cocky swagger, chiseled jaw—the ‘V’.

SOLD, I said to myself, until I discovered he was so much more than just a BOXER.

Left Hook.
Right to the heart.

This is a standalone book in The Modern Love World. You do not need to read book one, The Bartender, in order to read The Boxer.

I generously received this ARC from Sassy Savvy Fabulous PR in exchange for an honest review…

#TeamUnicorn for the win! The dynamic duo known as Piper Rayne (i.e. Piper & Rayne – have you figured out who they are yet?) have done it again! When I turned on my kindle the other night and saw this ARC ready and waiting to read I squealed super loud because as soon as I finished The Bartender (Whitney and Cole’s story) I was ready and willing to jump right back into the MODERN LOVE series with Tahlia’s extraordinary story. After what happened in the first book I (that I was fortunate enough to read a little less then a month ago) I thought that Tahlia deserved her own happily ever after love story and do these authors deliver or what!

Immediately I devoured as much of this book as I possibly could (of course between classes and work it was a little difficult, but I eventually got around to finish it and man was I instantly blown away), as fast as I possibly could. Just like the last book, I absolutely adored every single moment of this story and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Tahlia is the prim and proper girl that we’ve met who left her fiancé at the alter (or more like before) after she learned of his cheating ways. The last thing she wanted was another relationship, but that is exactly what happens when she least expects it. The relationship between Tahlia and Lucas was extremely intense and made me have all the feels. And that surprise in Chapter 26 – WOW – I was totally not expecting that at all. Oops…maybe I’ve said too much…Oh well I guess I will just leave you with that thought!

Overall, I have to say that this book truly spoke to me on so many levels and I cannot wait to experience the same overwhelming feelings with Lennon’s story in The Banker coming soon!

About Piper Rayne

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two established authors for the price of one. You might be wondering if you know us? Maybe you’ll read our books and figure it out. Maybe you won’t. Does it really matter?

We aren’t trying to stamp ourselves with a top-secret label. We wanted to write without apology. We wanted to not be pigeon holed into a specific outline. We wanted to give readers a story without them assuming how the story will flow. Everyone has their favorite authors, right? And when you pick up their books, you expect something from them. Whether it’s an alpha male, heavy angst, a happily ever after, there’s something you are absolutely certain the book will contain. Heck, we’re readers, too, we get it.

What can we tell you about ourselves? We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We’re both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We’re both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
