They say the college years are what really shape a person for adulthood, and although rare, unbreakable bonds of friendship can be made.
Gianna Moretti, Alexis Cole and Shelby Lansing are about to discover just how true that is.
When the three of them are thrust together in an new city and on their own for the first time at Boston College, none of them expected to click so suddenly despite their many differences.
They also didn’t anticipate how much their lives would be changed.
Forgotten dreams, family secrets and heartbreaking fears are revealed as they grow, learn and laugh together. What started as a bond of circumstance quickly becomes something they never realized they’d all been missing –true friendship.
However, when devastation strikes, will their friendship survive?
I generously received this ARC from IndieSagePR in exchange for an honest review!
WOW! I absolutely adored every single moment of this extraordinary book! I started reading this book the other night right before bed and only made it through the first few chapters before forcing myself to lay down. However, on Wednesday (2-1-17) I had a two-hour gap in my schedule before another class so I decided to give myself a brief break from studying for a test to read a few chapters because I really wanted to know what happened next. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the way you look at it) I ended up finishing the book instead (losing two hours of studying time, but gaining the experience from this friendship). Elle Vanzandt and P. Marie know how to write because I literally felt like I was transformed into the story!
Welcome to Beantown by Elle Vanzandt and P. Marie is a beautifully written coming of age story about a newly discovered friendship between three college freshmen who are on their own for the very first time. Although romance is by far my absolute favorite genre, it was nice to sit down a read a book that was completely centered around the unbreakable bond of friendship. Gianna Moretti, Alexis Cole and Shelby Lansing’s unlikely bond is what I call the ultimate friendship goals. These three unique girls could not be more different, but they instantly form a connection that will last for years to come. Many say that your college years are some of the best years of your life. It’s where you form bonds that will follow you for the rest of your life.
If you are looking for a novel about friendship then I strongly recommend checking out Welcome to Beantown by Elle Vanzandt and P. Marie because these girls truly know what a real friendship is all about. I honestly felt that I was transformed into this story and became an honorary “fourth” member of this group of girls! I cannot wait to see what happens next!
After we both tried to discreetly wipe the tears Shelby’s heartfelt words had brought on, she leaned over before handing me a small, dainty bag. I pulled out the little black box tucked inside and opened it to find a sterling silver pendant with three intertwined hearts. There was a note resting beside it that read, ‘These Three Hearts are a symbol of our friendship. It’s connected not only by our hearts, but our souls. For a long moment, I stared at the necklace, and for the first time in my life, was given a gift that touched me so deeply I had no words. I looked up to see Shelby staring back, wide-eyed and worried about my reaction to her gift.
“Well, shit,” I croaked out. “This is beautiful and I love it.”
Shelby sagged with relief before handing Lexi the exact same bag, her voice sweet and nervous still.
“I know it’s not much, but I wanted to give you the same necklace as Gia,” she paused, reaching into her blouse to reveal the same necklace resting against her chest. “I figured this way, no matter where we go, we would always be in each other’s hearts.”
